How Does Caller ID Spoofing Work? Thanks to Itellas, it is easier than ever to spoof your Caller ID number. To use the service, all you have to do is call the main Itellas service number, and follow the prompts.

The first prompt will ask you to enter the 10-digit phone number that you want to call.  The second prompt asks you to enter the 10-digit phone number you want to display on the Caller ID.
Is "Caller ID Replacement" Legal? Absolutely.  Caller ID Replacement (Caller ID Spoofing) is in fact legal; however, it is not legal to use Caller ID spoofing for nefarious purposes such as fraud or harassment.

President Obama signed the “Truth in Caller ID Act,” banning the transmission of inaccurate caller ID information “with the intent to defraud, cause harm, or wrongfully obtain anything of value.”
